During 2025-26, EMHS continued to strengthen its information governance and recordkeeping practices in accordance with the State Records Act 2000 and its approved Recordkeeping Plan. Corporate Records Management, within the Office of the Chief Information Officer, plays a key role in supporting the creation, management and preservation of corporate records to ensure they remain accessible, reliable and compliant with legislative requirements.

Corporate records are maintained in both physical and electronic formats, with electronic records managed through Content Manager, EMHS’ Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS). The system supports the secure capture, storage and retrieval of corporate information. As of 30 June 2026, almost 700 staff were active in the system, which contained more than 1.7 million documents and emails created since its implementation in 2019.

Recordkeeping Awareness Training remains a mandatory component of staff induction and supports employees in understanding their recordkeeping responsibilities and compliance obligations.

During 2025–26, Corporate Records Management continued to support the adoption of Content Manager through a range of education, personalised engagement and awareness initiatives. User-friendly online training resources, guidance materials and targeted communications were developed to strengthen staff understanding of their recordkeeping responsibilities and support the consistent creation and management of corporate records across EMHS.

Corporate Records Management also continued to progress actions arising from previous internal audit recommendations to further strengthen recordkeeping governance and practices across EMHS. During 2025–26, the team enhanced reporting capabilities through the development of Power BI dashboards, providing increased transparency of corporate recordkeeping activities and Content Manager usage across EMHS. These dashboards will support managers and business areas to monitor recordkeeping activity, identify opportunities for improvement and reinforce compliance with organisational and legislative recordkeeping requirements.
