EMHS Board
The EMHS Board is responsible for determining the strategic direction of the health service and holds overall accountability for service delivery and performance.

Focus in 2023-24
In December 2023, the Board members undertook refresher training of the Code of Conduct due to the release of the new Commissioners Instructions 40 – Ethical Foundations.
During 2023-24 a review was undertaken of Board engagement with staff and consumers, and a more hands-on ‘Leader Rounding’ was introduced, providing additional tangible opportunities to engage with staff and consumers. Some examples included:
- having lunch with the Day Surgery Unit and theatre staff at Armadale Health Service (AHS)
- attending the Armadale Kalamunda Group (AKG) Nursing and Midwifery Leadership Forum
- visiting Bentley Health Service’s Plant Room, Day Surgery Unit and Allied Therapy Room
- visiting RPH’s ‘For Our Elders’ art exhibition (click here for more information)
- visiting Armadale Health Service (AHS) Catering, Patient Support Services, Maternity and Paediatrics, Mental Heath and Emergency Departments
- hosting a morning tea to thank the staff involved in the development of the EMHS Annual Report 2022-23
- meeting with staff in the RPH Outpatients, Haemodialysis and Catering Departments, Medical Records and Coding Areas; Business Units in the RPH Executive Area; the Aboriginal Health and Strategy Team, and the Patient Support Services within the Emergency Department (ED)
- participating in an internally hosted Cyber Simulation Exercise, using the board game ‘Corporates Compromised’ – a cyber security awareness training tool developed by the Cyber Security Cooperative Research Centre (click here for more information)
- touring AHS Digital Medical Records, Coding, Electronic Medication Management, and AKG Mental Health Areas.
